ACCOMMODATIONS/LODGING

The host hotel this year is the four-star Marriott Chateau Champlain, and is located in beautiful downtown Montreal, at 1 Place du Canada (514-878-9000). The hotel is located approximately 25 miles from the country club. We are working on transportation to/from the club for those without automobiles. We have secured a significant discount rate for our group at this luxurious accommodation at the special group rate of CAD$ 150 per night (2 beds /room). As of the date this form was printed, the current exchange rate of the Canadian dollar to the American dollar is 0.904, which would equate to approximately $135 per night in US dollars. This discount price is about half of the regular rate!

As stated in the cover letter, due to the expected high travel costs this year and some nice sponsors that have stepped forward, we will be able to provide a lodging supplement to the first 25 players reserving rooms at the host hotel with Steve. The amount of the supplement will depend upon final sponsor collections and # of rooms reserved (if less than 25), but will be a minimum of CAD$ 200 per room, and could end up being quite a bit more. Here is how the lodging supplement will work:

Each player wishing to take advantage of the supplement must reserve a room by contacting Steve Quevillon by email at steve_quevillon@hsbc.ca no later than June 15, 2006. If you do not have internet access, you may contact Alan Gentry at 502-964-7734 or 502-523-5128. Alan will relay your lodging needs asap to Steve.

You will then need to submit a $200 deposit with your entry form made payable to “NAOAGA” to confirm your reservation. This deposit is fully refundable if you have to cancel your trip for any unforeseen circumstances. You will be notified in your confirmation letter of the amount of your supplement. Obviously, you will be responsible for paying the remaining difference in your lodging costs while in Montreal.

DUES
Just a reminder to our defending champions Mike Benning and Klaus Schaloske, your 2006 entry fees are PAID by NAOAGA. All you have to do is send in your form notifying us of your intent to show up and defend, and you are entered. And for all others coming this year, just win and you play free next year!

As usual, annual dues are due and payable on or before the Annual Meeting. As you may already know, we have approved a new “Life Membership” option. Please contact NAOAGA for a Life Membership fee schedule. For one time only, a 15% discount will be offered to current members in good standing as of the 2005 AM&C. Current members who are behind can upgrade to a life membership without making up your back-dues, but you will not be eligible for the 15% discount. Members who are behind on dues and DO NOT catch up or upgrade to a life membership will be removed from the mailing list on September 1, 2006. So please be sure to get your dues caught up (or become a life member and never worry about it anymore).
